Let's make GYOZA and other side dishes !
Gyoza are dumplings filled with ground meat and vegetables and wrapped in a thin dough. Gyoza originated in China, but have become a very popular dish in Japan. Homemade gyoza is also very common in average Japanese homes. In Japan, gyoza is typically pan fried and served as a side dish with dipping sauce along with a bowl of rice. They are first steamed in a pan with some oil and water.
You will learn to make the following:
- Daikon and umeboshi salad (Umeboshi: Japanese salt plum)
- Pork belly, cabbage and spring onion gyoza
- Beef and coriander gyoza
- Miso soup with seasonal vegetable
- Green tea matcha mousse (dessert)
Please bring your own apron :-)
